|Sisters of Sion Congregational Team for Jewish-Christian Relations|
The Sisters of Sion Congregational Team for Jewish-Christian Relations is composed of members of the congregation from around the world devoted to implementing its special charism for Christian-Jewish relations.
The Congregation of Our Lady of Sion, founded in 1842, is an international congregation of women religious in the Catholic Church. Its task of the is "to witness in the Church and the world that God continues to be faithful in his love for the Jewish people" (Constitution, art.2). Since Vatican II a new understanding has developed between the Church and the Jewish people and the Congregation has assumed "a particular responsibility to promote understanding and justice for the Jewish community, and to keep alive in the Church the counsciousness that, in some mysterious way, Christianity is linked to Judasim from its origin to its final destiny" (Constitution, art 14). The history of the Jewish people also makes the Congegation sensitive to the rights of minorities, of the poor, and of all who are marginalized in the societies where we have a presence.
